Throughout her 26-year career in institutional advancement and non-profit management, Lucy has designed and implemented major capital fundraising, annual giving programs, planned giving programs, and marketing and communications efforts. She is considered an expert on transformational fundraising, ethnic and gender-based fundraising and board governance. She is committed to helping organizations fine-tune and systematize best practices by building strong philanthropic relationships and sound board practices while increasing their presence and impact in their communities. As a certified Life Coach, she also provides executive and strategic coaching, as well as ethical/legal direction to individuals and leadership teams in search of mindful, creative, and innovative approaches. 

Prior to founding LM & Associates, Lucy served in advancement roles in institutions of higher education, health systems, and community organizations. She was the President & CEO for Miami Children’s Health Foundation, where she transformed the organization from a small $4-million-a-year non-for-profit to a $26-million-dollar-a-year revenue entity, and helped increase awareness of the hospital’s world-renowned facilities while leading a successful capital campaign, Together For The Children: The Campaign for Miami Children’s, which reached its $150-million goal two years ahead of schedule.

In her previous roles, Lucy launched and oversaw the University of Miami's Office of Estate and Gift Planning (OEGP) during the university's first $1 billion Momentum campaign. Under her leadership, the OEGP raised close to 30% of the total goal in planned gifts. Demonstrating her commitment to the advancement of education, she simultaneously worked as adjunct professor in the Political Science Department for the University. She also helped the Smeal College of Business Administration at her Alma Mater, Penn State, become one of the most successful fundraising units during the University’s Grand Destiny Campaign.

Lucy is active in the community and has served as a member of the national Non-Profit PRO Editorial Advisory Board, the National Society of Hispanic MBAs Corporate Advisory Board, and on the Board of Directors of the Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Broward. She is a member of the International Women’s Forum (IWF), the premier global organization connecting women business leaders to promote innovative leadership for a changing world. She is also an active volunteer at the Red Cross of South Florida, Chapman Partnership for the Homeless and Legal Services of Greater Miami.  

Lucy holds a BA in Administration of Justice and Business Law from Pennsylvania State University and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Pennsylvania State University. Additionally, she obtained a Law Degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and is bar-certified to practice law in Florida since 2001. Furthermore, she has been featured on numerous media outlets, including CNN En Español and Ocean Drive Magazine, as one of South Florida's Most Influential Women. In 2016, Lucy was recognized by People en Español magazine as one of the 25 Most Powerful Women in the U.S.
