With a career spanning almost three decades, Lucy Morillo’s journey encompasses a blend of legal acumen, entrepreneurship, and a passion for community. Professional Experience

Morillo currently serves as Principal of LMA Consultants, a women-owned, B-Corp communications and consulting firm providing support to socially conscious brands across diverse industries such as transportation, nonprofit, start-ups, and healthcare. In addition to her consultancy, Morillo is a co-owner and publisher of S Revista, a luxury lifestyle publication known as the preeminent magazine for Spanish speakers in the United States.

Her achievements as an attorney, community leader, and serial entrepreneur, along with her extensive background in business, private equity, and the non-profit sector has artfully positioned her as an effective business strategist. She specializes in fostering stakeholder engagement, promoting community acceptance, advancing social enterprise, and mobilizing the business community to champion local initiatives.

As a trusted advisor to top executives, Morillo leverages her expertise in communication, management, and transportation to meticulously craft strategies and guide clients through transformative projects. Morillo utilizes a problem-solving, practical and client-centered approach as a management-level consultant to numerous U.S. and international private and nonprofit companies. 

In her role as an advisor in Urban Air Mobility (UAM), Morillo advocates for the advancement and implementation of cutting-edge air mobility solutions in South Florida. Leveraging her background, she has pioneered the introduction of a social enterprise business model and fostering public-private partnerships within the UAM industry. This forward-thinking approach is designed to not only facilitate community acceptance of the UAM concept but also to prepare for its seamless integration into service. Since 2023, she has played a pivotal role in constructing the UAM ecosystem in Miami-Dade County, collaborating closely with local governments and key stakeholders to ensure that UAM solutions not only bring about positive change but also contribute to the well-being of the surrounding communities.

Leadership and Board Roles

Morillo serves on several industry and advisory boards, including the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Advanced Air Mobility Advisory Committee (AAMAC), the International Aviation Women’s Association (IAWA), City of Miami Advance Air Mobility Committee, University of Miami MEAMI Advisory Board, and The Wings Club Foundation of New York.  She also previously served on Embraer’s EVE Air Mobility’s Advisory Board.  

Additionally, Morillo's advocacy for advancing women’s leadership and championing equality is reflected in her current role as the President of The International Women’s Forum (IWF) Florida Chapter. This invitation-only network comprises over 7,500 preeminent women leaders in 33 countries.

Education 

Known for her negotiation and communication prowess, Morillo possesses the ability to influence, persuade, motivate, and train world-class teams. She earned her bachelor’s degree at the Pennsylvania State University where she participated in the Air Force ROTC and minored in Business. She also earned a Master of Public Administration at Penn State and a Juris Doctor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and has been a licensed attorney in the state of Florida for the past 23 years.

Trailblazing Career

In addition to her passion for entrepreneurship, she has served in several leadership roles throughout her career,  including as the Director of Legal Affairs in Latin America for FirstMark Communications International, a telecommunications startup that raised an impressive $1billion and boasted one of the most prestigious, star-studded boards of any startup. At FirstMark, she successfully established an international legal team, expanding the organization into nine Latin American countries. Within the UAM space, she also served as President and CEO of UrbanX, a subsidiary of Miami-based Global Crossings Airlines Group, where she positioned the company for the future of aviation in the advanced air mobility space.  

Driven by her commitment to making a lasting impact on the South Florida ecosystem, Morillo assumed leadership roles in several organizations in the Miami area. As the Executive Director of Estates and Gift Planning for the University of Miami, she played a key role in securing nearly $350 million for the first billion-dollar campaign. Subsequently, as the President and CEO of the Miami Children’s HealthFoundation, she led the organization through their capital campaign, managing $100 million in assets, while securing a $60 million gift to rename the hospital after Jack and Barbara Nicklaus.

Acknowledged as a woman of influence, Morillo has garnered attention in various media outlets, including CNN en Español, Ocean Drive Magazine, Aviation Week, and the South Florida Business Journal. In 2016, People en Español Magazine honored her as one of the 25 Most Powerful Latina Women in the U.S. Also that same year, the City of Miami awarded her the “Key to the City” as a civic recognition and gratitude for her service to the public and the common good.

Beyond her professional achievements, Morillo takes pride in being the mother of Nicholas, a second year law student at the University of Miami School of Law.
